Ardvreck Castle and Quinag at 5:30 on a summer morning

Having spent a fairly uncomfortable night in the car at Knockan Cliff (due to a mass bike ride starting in Ullapool the following morning all the accommodation in the local area was fully booked) I was awake as the azure night sky began to lighten. After a short drive I found myself wandering around the ruin of Ardvreck castle a little after 4:30, but having just missed the sunrise.

I had the place to myself until 4 hours later when the first of a steady stream of tourists arrived, whereupon I wandered over to Calda House before deciding to head off to a quieter spot elsewhere.
