Orographic cloud envelopes the Black Mount across Lochan na H'Achlaise

This location on Rannoch Moor is one of the most frequently photographed in Scotland due to it's accessibility and the fact that it requires no effort, being plumb next to the A82, to get to. This was taken about 20 years ago before the crowds, but even then the thundering traffic made it a not so pleasant spot to immerse oneself in the scenery.

The orographic cloud over the Black Mount produced a variation to the standard study of this scene that I have seen so many times since.
