Eilean Donan twilight

Eilean Donan castle on a winter night shortly after sunset

A chance stop at the car park by Eilean Donan as a colourful sky was developing gave me this opportunity to capture the illuminated castle as featured in Highlander and one of the Bond movies. This was before the modern visitor centre and tarmac carpark, only a tiny ticket kiosk by the gates on the bridge gave a hint that this was a tourist attraction at the time.

On this freezing winter night the loch was very still and the post sunset glow was beautiful. I've seen more recent pictures of the castle at night and plain white lighting seems to be in use, which in my opinion is not as attractive.
